i got the smartdisk rover mp3 player/radio/voice recorder and let me just tell you how great it is… as a technogeek beacon. as an mp3 player, it’s poor, as a radio, it’s a joke, as a voice recorder, it’s terrible, and as a usb drive, it’s even worse!

in preparation for my upcoming trip to asia, i’ve been learning some japanese & cantonese from an audio language series called pimsleur. i’ve gone through about 12 lessons in cantonese and 9 lessons in japanese, and it seems like a lot of it is for picking up chicks.
